Abstract :
UE (user equipment) usually needs RF (radio frequency) switch which is sensitive to ESD (electrostatic discharge) to be located in the front of transceiver for choosing the uplink and the downlink. It must be protected to avoid the damage of ESD. Different from conventional ESD protection method in which shunt Zener diodes are used to clamp component´s input voltage into safe range or shunt ESD current and there are lots of redundancies, a facile protection method using elementary LC resonator to filter disgusting ESD current is presented. At the same time, the added LC resonator´s impacts to ESD current and RF signal are evaluated. At last, the experimental datum shows the method´s availability.
