Abstract :
The effects of bifurcation sites of normal myocardium such as can happen in infarcted tissue on extracellular waveforms and mapping are studied. It is found that functional block arcs are extremely sensitive to the selection of the activation instant. Moreover comparison between infarcted and cardiomyopathy electrograms are made. It is observed that although multiple deflections in both cases exist, the degree of multiple deflections in infarcted tissue is larger, and the impulse pathway while it resembles a zig-zag course in infarcted hearts, it is following a more direct course in the cardiomyopathy hearts.<>
