Abstract
This paper demonstrated that the computational geometry can be systematically and exactly converted into ANCF finite element description using a linear transformation. This linear transformation does not distort the geometry and preserves the desirable features of the ANCF finite elements including the constant mass matrix. As discussed in this paper, it is necessary to introduce a rational ANCF to convert the rational Bezier and NURBS curve into ANCF elements. The rational Bezier curve representation can be considered as a special case of the RANCF cable finite element developed in this investigation.
