Abstract
The control implications of using superconducting coils for electro-magnetic Maglev suspensions are examined. Three configurations are analysed, two of which have both superconducting and normal coils, and the third has only a superconducting coil. Current, voltage and flux changes are calculated both for the response to random and deterministic track inputs, and observations are made regarding the controllability issues
