Abstract
Virtualization Technology is the most important base for IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) cloud computing platform. VM (Virtual Machine) Motion is the main means for IaaS platform to realize resource reallocation, disaster recovery, load balance and etc. Virtual machine motion can help cloud computing platform to release resources, optimize the resources usage, increase the VM capacity, so as to increase the QoS(Quality of Service) of whole platform. In this paper, we present our virtual machine backup, motion and disaster recovery model for IaaS cloud computing platform aiming at the optimization for platform usage. Based on the runtime and average usage of three layers of one IaaS system including the platform, host and VM, and to meet the need of motion on demand and motion for error, we combine the VM backup, disaster recovery and VM motion together, and give out the VM selection and motion algorithm in order to guarantee the QoS of whole platform and maximum the resource usage.
