Abstract
We present an architecture and techniques to manage the TDX-10 switching system based on the ITU-T TMN management model. We extend OSIMIS network management platform to implement generic TMN applications. The hierarchical fault management services/functions are implemented, incorporating the logical layered architecture concept of the TMN management model. The various components of the TDX-10 system are specified using a hybrid MIB modelling approach. The persistent MIB is realized using the UNISQL/M object-oriented database management system. In order to monitor and control the various components of the TDX-10 exchange, the external real resource access system has been built for the OSIMIS agent and TDX-10 system, which include the real resource access communication interface, database access interface, MIB loader and translator
