Abstract :
This paper presents a generic network resource information model defined within the Telecommunication Information Networking Architecture Consortium (TINA-C). It outlines the open distributed processing (ODP) definition of the information viewpoint for network resources and how that model can be applied in the computational viewpoint. The TINA network resource information model represents a technology independent abstraction of the network, which supports the different management functional areas such as fault, configuration, accounting, performance, security, as well as the service applications deployed on TINA. The model is used to support manipulation of connections in different management domains and layer networks (e.g. path, circuit). It provides the connectivity base on which services can be built. This model is based on current standards for modelling of transport networks, such as G.803 and M.3100
