Abstract
Sensor networks are widely used in a variety of commercial and military applications due to their self-organization characteristics and distributed nature. As a fundamental requirement for providing security functionality in sensor networks, key management plays a central role in authentication and encryption. In this paper, we analyze the adaptive key selection (AKS) scheme and the corresponding adaptive key selection algorithm for multiple deployment in sensor networks in terms of security, connectivity and overhead. We show through simulation that the AKS scheme can greatly improve the connectivity and security of the existing multiple deployment scheme in wireless sensor networks.
