Abstract
In this paper, we attempt to explain the improved response seen with an MMIC filter, which utilizes a new multilayer structure. The filter consists of buried coplanar layer and a polyimide overlay and has an area of only 1.0×0.7 mm2, smaller than others reported in the literature. An electromagnetic simulator Sonnet is used to characterize and predict the filter response. Results of this simulation show that the filter operates well without spurious in the passband or stopband.
