Abstract :
This paper is presented a new method based on the alternating-direction implicit (ADI) technique and the multidomain pseudospectral time-domain (MPSTD) algorithm to improve the stability and efficiency of conventional PSTD method, while it maintains the accuracy and flexibility for an accurate treatment of internal inhomogeneities. By calculating the scattering parameters of the typical electromagnetic band-gap (EBG) structures, the numerical results of ADI-MPSTD show an excellent agreement with those of analytical solutions and the FDTD algorithm, and fully demonstrate a remarkable improvement in stability and efficiency.
