Abstract :
In this paper, the EM performance of thin dielectric radomes together with wire antennas are analyzed by an efficient approximate technique. With reasonable approximation, the volume integral equation (VIE) in thin dielectric area is reduced to surface integral equation (SIE) which can decrease the unknowns greatly when it is solved by moment method. The approximate SIE for the dielectric region is combined with conventional EFIE on the surface of the line antenna to account for the coupling effect between the radome and the wire antennas. The fast algorithm MLFMA is also applied to further accelerate the computation. Numerical results show that the proposed method has high efficiency and accuracy.
