Abstract :
The authors describe an HDTV (high-definition television) high-speed videotex prototype system that provides enhanced picture quality and a shorter response time. This system uses HDTV and B-ISDN (broadband integrated services digital network). Techniques such as a high-speed protocol processing, data transmitting, and parallel file access allow retrieval and display of 6 MB of still picture data within three seconds
