Abstract
It has been recently shown that linear phase can be efficiently approximated by an IIR SC filter structure realizing denominator order smaller than the numerator order. This paper compares such an approach to phase equalized cascade and ladder structures implementing elliptic approximations, and to the conventional linear-phase FIR designs. Comparative measures include power dissipation, capacitance spread, total capacitor area, and sensitivity to process variations regarding capacitance ratios.
