Abstract
In this paper we develop a method for identifying the modulation type of a communications waveform, using a method that exploits the power spectral density properties of such waveforms. This approach may be employed regardless of the type of modulation schemes in use, whether analogue or digital and thus provides a significant advantage over previous attempts at general modulation classification
