Abstract :
Interferometric fiber-optic sensors have become an important part of the fiber-optic sensors because of their high sensitivity. But Polarization fading phenomena often exist in the output of fiber interferometric sensor. Based on the fact that the polarization form can be any status, the technique of the eliminating polarization-induced-fading is presented and simulated. Simulation for the output intensity of an optical fiber hydrophone is made to demonstrate the phenomenon of polarization-induced fading which will result the lost of output signals. Simulation has also shown that the technique developed in this paper can in fact eliminate the signal fading.
