Abstract :
Microwave holography is well established for the evaluation and optimisation of electrically large reflector antennas used for satellite ground stations. Increasing interest has been shown for using the method during development of other complex antenna configurations in order to improve the design, minimise design cycles and reduce the overall cost. Two application examples of the development of high performance antennas are presented: a corrugated slotted waveguide array antenna operating at 19.95 GHz, where the design has been optimised on the basis of results obtained from microwave holography, and a 3.4m diamond reflector for SATCOM applications operating at 14 GHz where surface profile distortions have been quantified
