Abstract :
Summary form only given. Government agencies, personnel security professionals, and our military services are faced with new challenges to rapidly assess the credibility of statements made by individuals in airports, border crossings, secured facilities, and a variety of environments not conducive to prolonged interviews. The changing environment has become more global and threats lie not just in the securing of an environment, but the increased dependency on gathering accurate information from a variety of individuals. The most robust source available for obtaining information regarding the past and present behavior of an individual or groups of individuals may be the person of interest. Some new technologies may offer assistance in this critical area. Current advanced research projects looking at emerging technologies in operational credibility assessment are presented for discussion.
