Abstract :
Backward Wave Oscillators are the most established vacuum electronic devices for THz and near-THz applications. The most powerful of these VEDs are BWO-clinotrons. Design process of 400 GHz Clinotron and its magnetic focusing system using 3D and 2D electromagnetic computer codes is presented. The comparison of simulation results with ones obtained experimentally has been presented. An output power of 43 mW is demonstrated at 387 GHz.
