            Abstract :
For pt.I see ibid., vol.2, p.614-17 (1991). A nonsynchronous optical orthogonal code-division multiple-access (OOCDMA) system that can transmit multibits per sequence-period is introduced, and avalanche photodiodes (APDs) and thermal noise, plus interference, are included. This multibits/sequence-period system is much better in bit error probability as well as log2 F times higher in throughput than the 1-b/sequence-period system where F=sequence-length. Furthermore, an analysis is performed for the log2 F b/sequence-period system with a hard-limiter placed before the receiver
