Abstract :
Research analysts and decisions makers must find new, more efficient ways to assess world events. Time demands have increasingly exposed limitations in traditional wholly human-based analysis and the capabilities of current HSCB analysis frameworks. Facing such limitations, decision makers seek more automated accessible solutions that combine human HSCB assessment expertise and technology. This paper discusses the underpinnings of the Linguistic Pattern Analyzer (LPA) designed as a platform to instantiate HSCB models, extract and measure HSCB inputs, and produce assessments automatically. Included in the discussion are results from a recently concluded study showing how one conceptual HSCB model was automated through combining human expertise, metrics, and the LPA.
