Abstract :
A novel efficient method is suggested for analytical calculations of the spectrum of circular cavity resonator with a randomly rough side boundary, which imposes no restrictions on the asperity sharpness. Spectral properties of such a resonator are shown to be mainly governed by the asperity mean-square slope. With arbitrary sharp asperities, the spectrum is shown to acquire chaotic properties solely in the presence of dissipation loss.
