Abstract
Accurately representing spatial data in a digital environment continues to confound and challenge researchers. This work focuses on the XML representation of spatial data. The spatial data that conforms to a DTD is "wrapped" in XML documents and represented graphically by parsing the XML document. The model stores the information of geographical region like region name, location of the region, landmarks in the region, related information and buildings. As the model deals with XML, the data contributors of the system are expected to build the database in XML. The model also provides a mechanism for the user to query for a location.
