Abstract :
The architecture of a 2-D digital beam-forming (DBF) receiving array experimental system is presented. In this system, wideband microstrip patch antenna is applied. Digital IF receivers (DIFR) and digital channel calibration technologies are adopted to avoid the I/Q unbalance of each channel and the amplitude, phase unbalance among channels. The DBF weight coefficients for four independent simultaneous beams are obtained in parallel by several high-speed digital signal processors (DSP) in real-time. Experimental results verify the validity of the hardware and the adaptive linearly constrained minimum variance (LCMV) algorithm used in the proposed DBF receiving array system.
