Abstract :
The distribution functions of the components of a quasi-equilibrium two-component homogeneous fully ionized plasma have been built in the one- and two-polynomial approximation using the method of reduced description. It is shown that the one-polynomial approximation coincides with the Landau approximation. Relaxation times are found in the one- and two-polynomial approximation. It is shown how the two-polynomial approximation refines the Landau result.
