Abstract :
The Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN) will eventually allow the separation of subscriber profiles from the switch. This means that the switch will still provide traditional switching functions but the AIN will provide the detailed call processing instructions to the local switching offices (SSP´s) for customized handling of each subscriber´s calls. Personal mobility services require customized call handling as subscribers move about the network. As such, these services are particularly well suited to an AIN architecture. The core group of personal mobility services is described along with their implementation using the AIN
