Abstract :
A novel substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) based array antenna structure with slant radiation slots and through- hole cancellation vias is proposed for 45-degree linearly polarized millimeter wave applications. This antenna structure is able to better support a traveling wave and achieve wider bandwidth and better cross-polarization performance. As an example, a 10- element array centered at 24 GHz with a uniform power distribution is designed and presented with a impedance bandwidth of 7.5%, a maximum gain of 15.3 dBi, a cross polarization of 23.5 dB. This type of SIW-fed slot array antennas can be used in other frequency bands for 45-degree linearly polarized microwave and millimeter-wave applications.
