Abstract :
With the expansion of production scale and the increasing complexity of system integration, how to integrate, reuse and manage software and hardware resources of enterprise has become an important problem. About this issue, industry and academia proposed different solutions. In industry, Web services Technology and SOA are introduced to reduce the complexity of system and make the system loosely coupled. On the other hand, academia makes use of the multi-Agent technology and the theory of autonomic computing to achieve self-management of system. Currently, these two solutions are still lack of effective combination. In this paper, a heterogeneous network for device monitoring is presented. It is a Web services-based framework and makes use of multi agent technology to achieve a goal that all devices connected to the network can be managed and guided by rules. The definition and implementation of rule based self-management agent and multi-agent rule synchronization methods are described in detail. An example system is also given to demonstrate the usability.
