Abstract :
• Real-time energy recovery assistance developed as a crew Decision Support Tool. • The recovery planner identifies a tactical automation modes, setpoints and a lateral plan required to recapture the energy and time constraints at a target fix. • Preliminary results indicate that — the implemented two-stage approach is able to consistently identify energy recovery solutions from combinations of large error and time upsets. — the assumption of instantaneous turns during re-planning enable fast trajectory prediction but introduce inaccuracies when track extension are required. • Ongoing work is looking at the accuracy of the recovery plan under — state uncertainties (aircraft mass, initial position) — atmospheric and wind prediction errors — aircraft modeling discrepancies (planning and execution)
