Abstract
A new approach to design an antenna for GPS (global positioning system, 1575 MHZ) and CNSS (Compass Navigation Satellite System, 1620 MHZ) dual-band applications is reported. The dual band operation is achieved through the incorporation of two dielectrically-loaded quadrifilar helix antennas (DQHA) into a dielectrically-loaded octafilar helix antenna (DOHA). The dielectric loading associating with the special feeding structure yields an antenna with low proximity effects and small size to be suitable for mobile handset.
