Abstract :
This paper deals with the basics of cloud computing in the context of Libraries. This article highlights the definition, characteristics, components and types of cloud computing. It also covers cloud architecture, components of cloud computing, benefits of cloud computing for libraries and risk factors involved in the implementation of the cloud computing in libraries. Various service models as well as deployment models are also discussed. This paper concludes that cloud computing is the base to globalize libraries at all levels.
