Abstract
Early work on active control of combustion oscillations is reviewed. It is over 15 years since the first laboratory experiments and some ten years since a full-scale demonstration of the feasibility of feedback control to eliminate combustion instability. However, the development of control strategies and algorithms that guarantee performance across a range of operating conditions remains a challenge. Recent work on adaptive and robust controllers is summarised
