  • Abstract
    Influence of space and time non-uniformity is evaluated and it is clarified that variance of signal quality due to traffic non-uniformity reduces system capability. To overcome this problem, a new microcell quality control method is then proposed based on transmitter power control. Using this control, the signal quality of each microcell is maintained to be approximately equal. The proposed method is simple and effective enough to eliminate deterioration of system efficiency due to traffic non-uniformity. As a result, it brings a huge number of users within the service area of microcell CDMA systems
