Abstract :
In this paper, the characteristics of the intermediates during Orange II degradation in UV-Fenton system were detected by UV-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis), total organic carbon (TOC), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS). The results showed that the degradation of Orange II was consisted of dye discoloration, intermediates degradation and oxalate radical mineralization. A possible degradation mechanism of Orange II was proposed to provide novel insight to interactions of degradation intermediates with heterogeneous catalyst in UV-Fenton system.
