Abstract
A reconfigurable video ghost cancelling filter chip, the deghoster filter, is described. The chip can implement many useful combinations of sparse and dense IIR (infinite impulse response) and FIR (finite impulse response) filters, with a maximum of 60 taps per chip. Data processing can be real, complex, or half-complex, where half-complex involves the use of complex inputs and the extraction of the real-only or the imaginary-only component outputs. The chip has good data bit resolution, and it includes an input phase adjuster and a clamp circuit
