Abstract :
In 3D medical imaging, active ray tracing allows rapid visualization of a selected numerical volume but does not give the volumetric segmentation. Combined active ray tracing and texture analysis overcomes this problem. The computation and classification of the “feature vectors” of texture associated with each point of the data subsets lead to a good visualization together with the volumetric segmentation necessary for constructing geometrical models of anatomical structures
