Abstract
Climate change is a people concerned issue in the world. Based on the analysis of literature of public awareness of climate change, it includes: understanding of climate change knowledge, attitudes towards climate change and behaviors of respond to climate change. This paper analyzed the climate change awareness of urban citizens´ in three capital cities of China northeast area. The results showed that most urban citizens understood the basic knowledge of climate change. TV, broadcast and newspaper are the three main channels that provided the climate change information to the urban citizens. Most urban citizens thought that the climate change was a serious problem and science and technology can give some help for mitigating climate change. Nearly half of the interviewees thought that economic developing were more important than mitigating climate change. Urban citizens´ awareness of the climate change in China northeast had a dual structure. The paper gives some suggestions to educating the climate change for citizens.
