Abstract :
Primary energy conservation and reduction of carbon dioxide emission have been an important topic universally concerned by many countries. The use of renewable energy is one of the effective methods to solve the problems. Wide attention was paid to solar energy due to its advantages, such as inexhaustibility, cleanness and cheapness. Solar collector application in China is widespread. In theory solar heating is available. However there are still many barriers to be resolved in practical application. One kindergarten in North of China was taken as a subject to study the application of solar energy in this paper. Some experimental and operating data was obtained by a twenty-day test. The results show that: the ratio of collector area to floor area is directly related to the effect of heating. With respect to the whole test period, almost fifty percent of the heating load for spacing in daytime can be met in this system, in which the ratio of collector area to floor area is 1:6.25. If the all-day heating is required, enlarging the area of solar collector and adopting new techniques and measures can be considered.
