Abstract
In a multichip module (MCM), the input/output (I/O) pins of dies are redistributed to signal layers before routing. A model based on congestion control is was proposed to solve this problem. A two layer global and detailed router is employed to finish the routing. Experimental results show that this model can produce very routable pin distribution in each layer for MCMs. After the signal redistribution, the final routing of local routing regions can be done independently. This is a good characteristic for parallel processing
