Analysis of future telecommunication business models using a business model ontology

In this paper we illustrate the application of a business model ontology with particular application to the Internet, IT, and telecommunication industry. It allows to subdivide a business model into a set of standard building blocks, which allows to identify and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of a particular model. The framework further enables the systematic comparison of different models to each other. The successful application of this framework to the specific area of delivery platforms is demonstrated.
