  • Abstract
    FASTCAMAC is a high speed block transfer protocol with data rates up to twenty times faster than normal CAMAC. FASTCAMAC is compatible with the CAMAC data acquisition standard. The new protocol is presented as a short tutorial for the data acquisition user. Emphasis is on FASTCAMAC as an extension to CAMAC with discussion of compatibility, performance and system aspects
