  • Abstract
There are numerous applications requiring small, low cost, low data rate (less than 64 Kbps) communication. C-band systems have been limited to fixed site applications due to the large antennas necessary to prevent off-beam axis interference with adjacent satellites. This paper describes the use of simple signal processing techniques to support broadbeam antennas on small, low cost C-band terminals. The proposed use of C-band systems with small broadbeam antennas opens up C-band satellites and technology to a whole new class of low data rate, mobile applications not previously considered
