Abstract :
Computer-aided parameter estimation for models representing the passive electrical properties of neurons is described, using either signal or system models. The validity of the parameter estimation method is checked using computer-simulated examples. The optimization strategy is based on finding the model parameters which minimize a measure of the difference between the characterizing functions of the model and the biological system
