Abstract :
The author discusses the growth in demand for live television news and sport. Several forms of SNG satellite ground stations are examined: 1.5 m flyaway ground station; mobile terminals for estate cars; and mobile vans. FM equipment is compared to compressed digital TV equipment, and the link budget is given.<>
