Abstract :
Service industries have been booming and their specialness is widely discussed. There are suggestions that the developing antecedents would differ between service firms and product firms. However, there are also other means for business categorization, and the antecedents have rarely been studies globally. In this study, framework for future research is proposed based on literature review. The antecedents are grouped as “BASICs”: backdrop, atmosphere, supporting system, internal enablers, and customer-related factors. They are suggested to be affected by offering nature, offering variety, and service mode. We also suggested the methods for data collection and analysis. Expectations on the results are also stated.
