Abstract :
Nano Al2O3 in α and γ phases was mechanically blended into Ethylene-Propylene-Diene Monomer, respectively. Both kinds of compounds were sulphurised and moulded into samples under the same condition. Distribution of both kinds of A12O3 in EPDM was obtained via Scanning Electron Microscope. It is shown that Al2O3 in γ phase is dispersed more uniformly than Al2O3 in α phase. Some mechanical properties of both kinds of samples were measure with Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer besides tensile strength. It is shown that mechanical properties of EPDM containing nano Al2O3 in γ phase are better than those containing nano Al2O3 in α phase.
