Abstract :
In this paper, laboratory investigations of discharge processes and flashover performances in the low pressure and icing conditions of the high altitude areas simulated in the artificial climate chamber were carried out on XZP-160, XWP4-160 porcelain insulators, FC160P/C170DC glass insulator and lO kV DC composite insulator. Based on the laboratory investigations, it analyzes the differences of discharge processes and flashover performances of the four kinds of insulators with various contours, and the effects of ice shape and air pressure on discharge processes and flashover performance are discussed.
