Abstract
The single-phase switched mode rectifier (SMR) with a high-frequency isolation transformer link has some advantages as an electrically-isolated AC/DC power conversion circuit for small scale UPS applications. This UPS is capable of eliminating harmonic currents as well as realizing an isolation between AC input and DC output power stage by means of inserting a compact high frequency transformer. Each isolated SMR designed for 2 kVA, 3 kVA and 5 kVA UPS is developed and put into practice. This paper presents a high-frequency link SMR circuit configuration and its control strategy, together with the experimental results of the developed UPS
