Abstract :
The big-size (Φ100, 135, and 155mm) scandate dispenser cathodes have been fabricated in BVERI and tested in injector system of LIA. The results show that impregnated scandate cathodes which have better emission performance can be applied as the electron source in LIA and satisfied the requirement of the LIA. The pulse current of both Φ135 and Φ155mm cathode assemblies is more than 2000A and the current density is more than 14 A/cm2. At the same time, the cathode has good emission stability and repetition with respect to single pulse and three-pulse modes.
