            Abstract : 
The theory and design of adaptive control is viewed by many researchers as a collection of tricks and analytical tools which are difficult to understand. To demonstrate that this is not the case, a general procedure for designing robust adaptive controllers and simple analytical tools to analyze them are presented. Simple examples are used to show that the approach unifies most of the adaptive control designs presented in the literature and gives a straightforward procedure for designing and analyzing new ones
