Abstract
Energy and power management is one of the crucial tasks in any wireless transducers application. Therefore, wireless transducers often have application specific designs in order to optimize the energy management. However, this limits reuse of devices and causes much configuration effort. In this paper, we propose to map energy-related parameters of wireless transducers into a transducer electronic datasheet (TEDS). Thus, appropriate performance and power settings can be made for each application and the wireless transducers are easily adapted for a certain task. We show energy management is not just important for communication but also to the data acquisition or actuation submodules. Thus, our approach can also be used to consider the capabilities of submodules that are not related to communication. Despite versatile applicability, the structure of the TEDS remains comparatively simple.
